[كدن] الكِدْنُ بالكسر: ما توطِّئ به المرأة لنفسها في الهودج من الثياب، والجمع كُدونٌ. والكِدْنُ: شئ من جلود يدق فيه كالهاوُن. والكِدْنَةُ: الشحم واللحم. يقال للرجل: إنه لحسَن الكِدْنَةِ. وبعيرٌ ذو كِدْنَةٍ. ورجلٌ كَدِنٌ وامرأةٌ كَدِنَةٌ: ذات لحم وشحم. والكَوْدَنُ: البِرذَونُ يوكَفُ. ويشبَّه به البليد يقال: ما أبين الكَدانَةَ فيه، أي الهجنة. والكديون، مثال الفرجون: دقاق التراب عليه درديُّ الزيت، تُجلى به الدروع: قال النابغة: عُلينَ بِكِدْيَوْنٍ وأُبْطِنَّ كُرَّةً * فهُنَّ وضاءٌ صافياتُ الغلائل
