[نسم] النَسيمُ: الريح الطيِّبة. يقال منه: نَسمَتِ الريحُ نَسيماً ونَسَماناً. ونسم الريح: أولها حين تقبل بلينٍ قبل أن تشتدَّ. ومنه الحديث: " بُعِثْتُ في نَسَمِ الساعة "، أي حين ابتدأتْ وأقبلتْ أوائلها. والنَسَمُ أيضاً: جمع نَسَمَةٍ، وهي النَفَس والرَبْو. وفي الحديث: " تنكَّبوا الغُبار فمنه تكون النَسَمَةُ ". والنَسَمَةُ: الإنسانُ. وتَنَسَّمَ، أي تنفَّس. وفي الحديث: " لما تنسموا روح الحياة "، أي وجدوا نَسيمَها. وناسَمَهُ، أي شامه. والمنسم، بكسر السين: خف البعير. قال الكسائي: هو مشتقٌّ من الفعل. يقال: نَسَمَ به يَنْسِمُ نَسْماً. وقال الأصمعيّ: قالوا مَنْسِمُ النعامةِ كما قالوا: منسم البعير. ويقال أيضاً: من أين مَنْسِمُكَ؟ أي من أين وجهتك؟
