(T, M.) Yousay غَيْرُ رَادَةِ ↓ اِمْرَأَةٌ رَأْدَةٌ, in which the former رادة may be without ء, and the latter must be so, meaning (tropical:) A soft, or tender, woman; not one that roves about. (A, TA.) A2: Also رُؤْدٌ i. q. تُؤَدَةٌ [Moderation; gentleness; a leisurely manner of proceeding; &c.] (M, K. [In the latter, the form of the word having this signification is not plainly indicated.]) A poet says, كَأَنَّهُ ثَمِلٌ يَمْشِى عَلَىرُودِ [As though he were one intoxicated, walking in a gentle, or leisurely, manner]; for علىرُؤدِ; suppressing the ء for the sake of the rhyme: but he who regards the word as that of which رُوَيْدٌ is the dim. does not regard it as originally with ء. رِئْدٌ A sucker, an offset, or a shoot from the root, of a tree: (M, K:) or a soft, or tender, branch, or twig, thereof: pl. رِئْدَانٌ. (M.) b2: Also i. q. تِرْبٌ, (T, S, M, K,) i. e. (TA) (tropical:) An equal in age, (A, TA,) of a female, (T,) and of a man, but mostly used in relation to females: (M:) sometimes, [in poetry,] رِيدٌ, with the ء suppressed, (T, S, M,) for the sake of the rhyme; (M;) as in in a verse of Kutheiyir cited voce أُصْدَةٌ: (T, S:) pl. أَرْآدٌ. الضُّحَى رأدا انبسطت مَسّه وارتفع نَهَاره
رِئد [مفرد]: ج رِئدان: (نت) بُرْعُم ينحني نحو الأرض أو ينمو أفقيًّا فوق سطح الأرض، وينتج جذورًا وبراعم على منبت الأوراق من الساق.
رَأد الضُحَى: ارْتِفَاعُه، وقد تَرَأَّدَ ورَأدَ. وُيقال: رائد الضُّحى. والرأدُ: أصْلُ اللَحْيِ؛ وكذلك الرُّؤْدُ، والجَمِيعُ الأرْآدُ. وتَرَأَّدَتِ الحَيَّةُ: اهْتَزَتْ في انْسِيَابِها وارْتِفَاعِها. وكذلك الجارِيَةُ تَتَرَأدُ في مِشْيَتِها.
والرُّؤْدُ: الغُصْنُ النّاعِمُ الرَّطْبُ. وامْرأةٌ رُؤْدَةٌ، ورُؤْد شَبَابُها، ورأدة.
وتَرَأدْتُ في قِيَامي تَرَؤُّداً شَدِيداً. وكذلك إذا أخَذَتْهُ رِعْدَةٌ. وذَهَبْنَا في رَأدِ الأرْض: أي في خَلاَئها.
والرئْدُ: التَرْبُ والصَدِيْقُ، والجَميعُ الأرْآدُ.
رأد: غُصن رَؤودٌ: وهو أَرطب ما يكون وأَرخصه، وقد رَؤُدَ وتَرَأَّدَ
وقيل: تَرَؤُّدُه تَفَيُّؤه وتذبُّله وتراؤده، كقولك تَواعُدُه: تميُّلُه
وتميُّحه يميناً وشمالاً. والرَّأْدَةُ، بالهمز، والرُّؤْدَة والرؤْدَةُ،
على وزن فَعُولة: كله الشابة السريعة الشباب مع حسن غذاء وهي الرؤْدُ
أَيضاً، والجمع أَرآد.
وتَرَأَّدَت الجارية تَرَؤُّداً: وهو تثنيها من النعمة. والمرأَة
الرَّؤُود: الشابة الحسنة الشباب. وامرأَة رَادة: في معنى رُؤْد. والجارية
الممشوقة قد تَرَأَدُ في مشيها، ويقال للغصن الذي نبت من سنته أَرطب ما يكون
وأَرخصه: رُؤْدٌ، والواحدة رُؤْدَةٌ، وسميت الجارية الشابة رُؤْداً
تشبيهاً به. الجوهري: الرأْدُ والرُّؤْدُ من النساء الشابة الحسنة؛ قال أَبو
زيد: هما مهموزان، ويقال أَيضاً: رَأْدَة ورُؤْدَةٌ.
والتَّرؤُّد: الاهتزاز من النعمة، تقول منه: تَرَأَدَ وارْتَأَدَ بمعنى:
والرِّئْدُ: التِّرْبُ، يقال: هو رِئْدُها أَي تِرْبُها، والجمع أَرْآد؛
وقال كثير فلم يهمز:
وقد دَرَّعُوها وهي ذاتُ مؤَصَّدٍ
مَجُوبٍ، ولمَّا يَلْبَسِ الدِّرْعَ رِيدُها
والرِّئْدُ: فَرْخُ الشجرة، وقيل: هو ما لان في أَغصانها، والجمع
رِئْدانٌ، ورِئْدُ الرجل: تِرْبُه وكذلك الأُنثى وأَكثر ما يكون في الإِناث؛
قال:
قالت سُلَيمى قَوْلةً لِرِيدِها
أَراد الهمزه فخفف وأَبدل طلباً للرِّدف والجمع أَرْآدٌ، والرَّأْدُ:
رونق الضحى، وقيل: هو بعد انبساط الشمس وارتفاع النهار، وقد تَراءَدَ
وتَرَأْدَ؛ وقيل: رَأْدُ الضحى ارتفاعه حين يعلو النهار، أَو الأَكثر: أَن
يمضي من النهار خُمسه، وفَوْعَةُ النهار بعد الرَّأْدِ، وأَتيته غُدْوَةَ
غير مُجْرًى ما بين صلاة الغداة إِلى طلوع الشمس وبكرةَ نحوها، وجاءَنا
حَدَّ الظهيرة: وقتها، وعندها أَي عند حضورها، ونحْرُ الظهيرة: أَوَّلها،
وقال الليث: الرَّأْدُ رأْدُ الضحى وهو ارتفاعها؛ يقال: تَرَجَّلَ رَأْدَ
الضحى، وترَأَّدَ كذلك، والرَّأْدُ والرُّؤْدُ أَيضاً رَأْدُ اللَّحْيِ
وهو أَصل اللَّحْيِ الناتئ تحت الأُذن؛ وقيل: أَصل الأَضراس في اللَّحْيِ،
وقيل: الرَّأْدانِ طَرَفا اللَّحْيَينِ الدقيقان اللذان في أَعلاهما
وهما المحدَّدانِ الأَحْجَنانِ المعلقان في خُرْتَينِ دون الأُذنين؛ وقيل:
طرفُ كل غضن رُؤْدٌ والجمع أَرآد وأَرَائد نادر، وليس بجمع جمع إِذ لو كان
ذلك لقيل أَرائيد؛ أَنشد ثعلب:
ترى شؤُونَ رأْسه العَوارِدا:
الخَطْمَ واللَّحيين والأَرائدا
والرُّؤْدُ: التُّؤَدَةُ؛ قال:
كأَنه ثَمِلٌ يمشي على رُودِ
احتاج إِلى الردف فخفف همزة الرؤْد، ومن جعله تكبير رُوَيْد لم يجعل
أَصله الهمز؛ ورواه أَبو عبيد:
كأَنها مِثلُ من يمشي على رُود
فقلب ثمل وغير بناءَه؛ قال ابن سيده: وهو خطأٌ، وترَأْدَ الرجل في قيامه
تَرَؤُّداً: قام فأَخذته رِعْدَةٌ في قيامه حتى يقوم، وترأَّدت الحية:
اهتزت في انسيابها؛ وأَنشد:
كأَنَّ زمامها أَيمٌ شُجاع،
تَرَأَّدَ في غُصونٍ مُغْطَئِلَّه
وتَرَأَّدَ الشيءُ: التوى فذهب وجاءَ، وقد تَرَأَّدَ إِذا تفيأَ وتثنى،
وتَرَأَّدَ وتَمايحَ إِذا تميَّل يميناً وشمالاً، والرِّئْدُ: التِّرب،
وربما لم يهمز وسنذكره في ريد.
